She's arrived!

Brianna Louise Medley has arrived on the 18th of November, 2014! She has been named for her Nan Medley, who would've been the proudest Nan to ever walk the Earth. I'm sure she'll always be watching over her little namesake.

The csection was certainly a very different experience this time. It took a really long time for the spinal block to work, which set my heart racing and the doctor had to try and get me to calm down. He said that I nearly hit the record for fastest heart rate in the surgery.

Once the spinal block started to work, I couldn't feel them cutting me but I could feel every other sensation and it made me so nauseas and I vomited. As this was happening, the student doctor in the room fainted and I freaked out a bit because I was wondering what she was looking at that made her faint. By the time I got back to my room, I could move my legs again and the midwife said that it mustn't have been a very good spinal block. The experience certainly serves well as contraception lol.

Although Ethan had a few tantrums on Brianna's first day home, he's coping very well with the change and has been very gentle with his little sister. Anyway, here is our beautiful princess...

Bump photos

Well I've got 1 week left of my pregnancy and it's a little bittersweet. I can't wait to meet my little girl and to see how Ethan reacts to being a big brother. On the other hand, I am going to miss my bump because this is likely to be our last bub. I know that is what is right for our family but it does mark an end to this chapter of our lives.

I can honestly say that I m a little scared of how I'm going to manage with 2, especially when Ethan is still my baby as well. He may be a rampaging little toddler now but he'll always be my baby boy. I wonder how his future wife will manage that. When I first met Josh, I really thought that his Mum needed to cut the chord already but motherhood has certainly changed my perspective. I certainly have a better understanding of how she felt now.

My main wish for my children is to always feel as much love around them as we can provide. It's during these moments in life that I truly wish that Louise was here because she was a person who loved her family beyond all else. She would've loved these two beautiful babies more than life itself and that's what they deserve. I really hope that one day, Dave will come home and realise that he's missing out and be that person for them.

I hope that, no matter what happens, they'll always know how truly loved they are.

Ethan's first school photo :-)

This kid is just the cutest kid I have ever seen!!! Can't believe that he's already 17 months. Only 3 weeks to go and this young man is going to be the big brother! I'm booked in for a csection on the 18th of November. I think I'll know that I'm alive then.

Thursday 2 October 2014

Been a little slack with blogging lately.

Well I've started maternity leave and I'm now 33 weeks pregnant with our little princess. I can't wait to meet her! We had a midwife appointment on Monday and the midwife said that I'm measuring 2 weeks a head on fundal height so it will be interesting to see what the ultrasound shows next week.

If bubba girl is in the 90th percentile then we will probably meet her via csection at 38 weeks!

Devastated!

Yesterday the world lost a truly wonderful man. My earliest memories consist of climbing up onto to Grandpa's knee. We love you and will miss you so much Grandpa. If someone is held within the hearts of so many who loved him can he ever truly be gone?

24 weeks!

Time is flying with this pregnancy and I feel the urge to nest but I already have a nursery so I'm going to focus my energy on preparing Ethan's new room. Can't wait to start sorting through tiny little clothes again. It still doesn't feel quite real that we're going back to the newborn stage.

I'm certainly starting to expand and I was actually asked yesterday when I am due, which made me feel really good because people won't ask that unless you actually look pregnant and I was feeling rather fat. I'm also feeling a lot more movement now and Josh even got to feel some kicks lately. It's such a beautiful feeling :-)

Ethan has learnt to blow kisses and absolutely loves when people applaud him. He's almost at running pace now and we spend our days trying to keep up with him. Much to his Mummy and Daddy's dismay, he's dropped the second nap and if he's not sleeping, he must be on the move.

Ethan aged 14 months and looking just like his Daddy!

We're having a girl!!!

I'm a bit late in posting this as we've known for over a week but oh well. We're so excited about our pigeon pair! I asked the ultrasound lady if she was sure 3 times before she very patiently said "I wouldn't say that she was a girl unless I was sure." I then let her get back to work lol.

Here is a picture of our beautiful princess and a bump update at 20 weeks :-)

18 weeks along for bubba#2 and more steps for Ethan!

It took a few more weeks but now Ethan is trotting around everywhere!!! He's already had a couple of crashes and tears so I think we're going to need to wrap him up in bubble wrap for a while until he finds his balance. He just chuckles away as he walks and it's the cutest thing ever! Love him so much.

As for bubba#2, I'm starting to pop out a bit and next Friday we get to find out if we have a little prince or princess on board. I'm hoping for a healthy baby first and hopefully a little princess but it may be my lot in life to be surrounded by handsome men.

13 months for little man!

First steps!!!!

Ethan has shown that he is just like his Daddy! His Daddy started walking at 1 year and 1 week and Ethan has done the same. He looks like a little drunken sailor at the moment and only does 2-3 steps at a time but we're definitely on the move. He's going to keep us on our toes now.

In other news, I found bubba#2 with the doppler a couple of days ago. I definitely have a feeling that another boy is coming. I hope I'm wrong but if I'm right, I won't be too upset because boy or girl, this bubba is truly a miracle.

Happy birthday Ethan and 12 weeks for Bubba Medley!

Well life has been very busy lately. It feels like with been travelling through a whirlwind of things to do. Most importantly though, I would like to wish our little guy a happy birthday! Although this year hasn't always been easy, you have filled our lives with so much love and happiness! You mean the world to me and we love you so very much xoxoxo

Today is also Mothers Day and I was absolutely stoked to receive my first childcare Mother's Day present. Now I can always remember how tiny his little hands were. I love it so much!

Mother's Day is also a time to remember a special Mum and Nan that can now only be with us in spirit. It has been 2 years since we said goodbye. We know you couldn't stay but it didn't make it any easier. You would've been so proud of your little grandson and I know you were there to celebrate his birthday wit us yesterday.

We also got to see our littlest Medley bub on Friday and he/she is looking and doing great. Can't wait to hold our newest edition in our arms. Everyone is guessing boy but I'm still holding onto hope that we may have a little princess in there. All we really need though is a healthy little munchkin.

I hope that all of the Mummies out there have a great day this Mother's Day!

Monday 14 April 2014

Nearly 9 weeks and morning sickness sucks!

I'll be 9 weeks on Friday and the morning sickness has arrived. I haven't vomited much but just feel terrible in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. I can't wait until maternity leave starts again. I really have no motivation to be there whatsoever.

We had a scan at 7 weeks and we seen a little heart beating at 122bpm. It was so exciting but at the same time, I hope the old wives are wrong on this one because that falls into the boy category for heartbeat.

In other news we have started planning a first birthday. That year has gone so incredibly fast and my little baby is fast turning into a toddler. Sometimes I just wish I could freeze time but at the same time, he delights me with every new thing that he learns to do. He's now scooting around all the furniture with ease and crawls at lightning speed. I think we'll have a walker very soon.

We now also have a third tooth and another one pressing against the gums! He's growing up way too fast.

8 weeks pregnant and I have a serious bloat bump.

A cheeky little boy!

Thursday 13 March 2014

March and guess who is going to be a big brother!!!!

I still can't quite believe it! I just hope we have a sticky little bean. I'm only about 4 weeks along so I'm going to have a few very nervous weeks a head of me. I just wish that me and Kat could waddle along side by side because there's only going to be 8 weeks between us but unfortunately we're trapped in different states.

Because of work, we can't really tell anyone yet but this secret is going to burn me up inside. I'm going to have 2 children under 2!!!! Am I crazy? Maybe....

Ethan has also been crawling around like a boss for the last couple of weeks and getting into EVERYTING! I have a lot of baby proofing to do.

Saturday 22 February 2014

February!

Well another month has gone and Ethan isn't properly crawling yet but he certainly gets himself around and into everything! He keeps us busy and we love him more every single day.

Yesterday Ethan went to Noah's first birthday party and had his face painted for the first time. He also played with his first balloon animal until it popped while he was chewing on it. He's a bit small for the jumping castle but hopefully next time. We had a great time :-)

Anyway there's not much happening here at the moment. Just can't wait to add to our family so that we'll have many more adventures to report on. Hopefully it won't take too long once we see Dr Greening again.

Saturday 25 January 2014

Look who's almost crawling!

Ethan is just days away from crawling now and rolls everywhere! Not long now until we'll be chasing him around the house. We're also getting lots 'Dada' and 'Bubba' but no Mumma yet :-/ He is just generally lighting up our world :-)

In other news, Ethan will be getting a new cousin at the end of the year which is bring up those old conflicting feelings. I'm happy for them but knowing that it was a one night woopsy baby when were trying hard this month makes it difficult.

To add to that, I've been getting some super faint lines on pregnancy tests over the last 3 days and I'm either having some bad luck with evap lines or I'm having a chemical pregnancy. I just can't wait for this cycle to be over so that I can start again. I really hope I'm pregnant before this new baby comes or it's going to hit hard I think.

Anyway here is a photo of our gorgeous boy :-)
